Hi, I’m Craig - a software developer, traveller and obsessive hillwalker based in Glasgow.
I spend most of my free time exploring Scotland’s hills, travelling to new places, and taking far too many photos along the way. This blog is where I document trips, write up adventures, and share stories from both the local Munros and the far side of the world.
I also volunteer as a Scout Leader, so you’ll occasionally find posts about running activities, expeditions, and the odd bit of organised chaos.
If you enjoy hillwalking, travel stories, or just seeing what trouble I get myself into next - you’re in the right place.
Why I Built This Site
I created this website because I wanted somewhere simple, clean, and fully mine. I was tired of ads, tracking cookies, algorithms, and the general enshittification of platforms like Instagram and Facebook. Every year they get busier, louder, and more focused on squeezing attention rather than sharing anything meaningful.
So instead, I decided to learn how to self‑host a site from scratch. Here, I have complete control over the design, the content, and how everything is displayed. No ads, no data mining, no recommendations - just a space to write, document adventures, and share things on my own terms.
Building this has been a fun project in itself, and keeping it running feels a lot more satisfying than posting into the void of social media.
